European Encounters have been running this Christmas tour to Switzerland for 7 years. It really is a fun tour and if you like the snow well we have plenty in store for you. The tour also visitsParis and the Champagne Caves in Rheims in the west of France. Christmas dinner is included at the hotel in Lucerne.
 
Hotels
 
The 3 hotels we use Paris, Lucerne and Metz) are all great tourist class hotels with en suite facilities, television, telephones with breakfast included. Christmas dinner is provided in the evening at our hotel in lovely Lucerne in Switzerland.
 
Coach Travel
 
You will travel by luxury coach throughout the tour. The coach has heating, video/stereo facility, toilet and you will be accompanied by an experienced tour leader and driver who have been on the tour a number of times.....so you are in good hands.
 
Meals
 
Breakfast is included at the hotels. hristmas dinner is provided on ChristmasDay evening. Lunches and other evening meals are not included.
 
Optionals
 
On Christmas Day an optional cable car excursion is available to the summit of Mt Titlis. This is 10, 000 feet up in the Swiss Alps and is absolutely breathtaking. On boxing day you will also have the chance to take the cog railway which passes through the Eiger mountain on the way to the top of the might Jaungfrau mountain. Skiing will be possible on Christmas Day and boxing day.

Tour Itinerary
 
 
23 December 
 
Depart from outside Embankment Tube station at 06.30 hrs and drive to Dover for the ferry crossing to Calais. After arriving in France we drive south on the auto route to Paris. After checking in at the hotel we commence our evening tour of Paris with all of its beautiful Cristmas lights. An optional night boat cruise tour on the River Seine will also be available.

Day 2
 
After breakfast in the hotel we drive south vis Lyon and on to Lucerne. After checking in at the hotel the rest of the day is free to shop and enjoy this beautiful Swiss Lakeside town.
 
Day 3
 
After breakfast in the hotel we drive to Mt Titlis where you will have the chance to take the optional excursion by cable car up to the summit. (10000 feet) This is a must and if the weather is good the view is breathtaking. In the afternoon we return to Lucern. Christmas dinner in Hotel.
 
Day 4
 
After breakfast we travel to the beautiful village of Grindervald at the base of the Eiger mountain. There is an optional tour up to the topof the mighty Jaungfrau Montain or you may wish to go skiing. Late afternoon we return to the hotel.
 
Day 5
 
After breakfast at the hotel we depart from Lucerne and travel via Zurich before crossing the border and back into France. We continue on after lunch to Metz in Eastern France where we stay for the night.
  
Day 6
After breakfast in the hotel we drive to Rheims which is in the heartland of the French Champagne Industry. We take a tour through one of the Champagne Caves before continuing on to Calais in the North of France where we catch the ferry back to Dover. After clearing immigration the coach will drive you back to London and the Embankment tube station mid evening.
