Itinerary

Day One
Depart London from outside the Embankment tube station at 06.30 a.m. and drive north via M40/M1 and the M6 to the north of England. After crossing over into Scotland we stop off at Gretna Green where young couples used to run to and get married without their parents consent in earlier times. We stop at the blacksmith's shop where the weddings used to take place. We continue our drive through the lowlands, arriving at our hotel near Glasgow in the late afternoon.

Day Two
After a full Scottish Breakfast we drive through some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery. We drive along the banks of Loch Lomond to Glencoe where a museum depicts the massacre perpetrated by the Campbells on their hosts, the MacDonalds. Then it’s on to Fort William and Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in Britain). Later we continue on to Loch Ness for a possible sighting of the Loch Ness Monster. After arriving at our hotel near Inverness the evening is free.

Day Three
After breakfast we drive via Aviemore to Pitlochry where we have a short stop. Then it’s on to Edinburgh where a guided tour of the Scottish capital awaits. On the tour you will see most of Edinburgh’s great attractions including the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the New Scottish Parliament building. At the completion of the tour we check into our hotel. The evening is free.

Day Four
After breakfast we drive south before crossing back over the border and into England. We continue on to the famous and beautiful Lake District and we make a stop at Lake Windermere for lunch before continuing on to London, arriving at approximately 20.30pm.
